Are you looking for a horse that you can do a bit of everything with while maintaining the feeling of being safe? Perhaps you are looking for a confidence booster or something low maintenance and straightforward. If so, take a look at our pick of cobs for sale on the Horse & Hound website this week.
Take a look at this week’s selection of cobs for sale on horseandhound.co.uk:
1. ‘Has it all’
Height: 15hh
Age: five
Gender: mare
Selling points: “‘Nelly’ is a great ride and drive, showing or dressage prospect. She has great conformation and a fantastic nature. She is perfect to handle and never says “no”. She is very safe at all times, but schooled to not be a complete plod. She is always ridden in a snaffle and has been used in our small riding school with a mix of abilities. Great to hack and vice free.”
2. ‘Potential show cob’
Height: 15hh
Age: four
Gender: gelding
Selling points: “This cob has good conformation and is clean limbed, with flashy paces. He is good to hack and a straightforward, safe ride, snaffle-mouthed and forward off the leg. He has been extremely willing with what we have asked of him so far and would suit someone who wants to have fun hacking and going on fun rides but who also enjoys working towards dressage and showing.”
3. ‘Super quiet cob’
Height: 15hh
Age: 12
Gender: gelding
Selling points: “‘Tinker’ is an exceptionally quiet and steady ride. He’s ‘kick along’ enough to make a nervous or novice rider feel safe, without being too hard to get going! Very willing and easy going at all times. He can be ridden on the loosest of reins and isn’t phased by a rider losing their balance or an accidental pull/kick. He will also happily jump a small set of coloured or cross-country fences. Tinker is an excellent hack, great in all traffic and never spooky.”

Height: 15hh
Age: six
Gender: gelding
Selling points: “‘Charles’ can do anything and everything (apart from make the tea!) from dressage to cross-country. He does well in dressage and showjumping and hacks out alone and in company.”
5. ‘Dream competition horse’
Height: 15hh
Age: 13
Gender: gelding
Selling points: “This cracking cob is a dream competition horse for a good teenager or small adult. He would also make a great hunter and is currently on hound exercise. He is 110% in the heaviest of traffic.”
6. ‘Cob surprise’
Height: 14.2hh
Age: six
Gender: mare
Selling points: “This mare has 11 inches of bone but is light on her feet and a steady, confidence-giving ride. She has won and been placed in dressage, showjumping, cross-country and all Pony Club activities. She hunted throughout last season with novice riders and is a perfect nanny. Good to do.”
