Team chasing

Are you stuck for things to do this week? To keep your diary up-to-date and make sure you’re never missing out, we’ve picked a selection of equestrian events to keep boredom at bay over the next seven days.

Polo

The Clague Cup tournament is being held at Taunton Vale Polo Club, Somerset, from 29 – 30 August. The Hong Kong Polo Team will be among the competitors.

Eventing

Burghley Horse Trials in Stamford, Lincs, runs from 3-6 September. The four-star horse trials will see some of the world’s top eventing combinations compete for the first prize of £63,000.

Wellington International runs at Highfield Farm, Hook, Hants, from 29-31 August. The horse trials features classes from BE100 up to advanced and CIC3*.

Trainers’ open morning

Epsom Downs trainers’ open morning, is on 31 August. This is followed by Epsom’s bank holiday raceday that afternoon.

Iberian horse show

Watch Spanish horses and Portuguese Lusitanos in showing, dressage and musical displays at the Iberian Performance Show. The event is held at Merrist Wood, Surrey, on 30-31 August.

Art exhibition

Arabian racing-themed artwork is on display at the National Horse Racing Museum in Newmarket, Suffolk, until 5 October. The exhibition has been produced by the Society of Equestrian Artists.

Retraining of Racehorses (RoR)

The first Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) championship show is being held at Aintree International Equestrian Centre at Aintree racecourse, Liverpool, on 29 – 30 August.

The Horse Trust is hosting an outdoor cinema event on 29 August at its base in Princes Risborough, Bucks.
