Festival
The Heritage Exmoor Pony Festival week runs from 9-16 August at various locations in Exmoor National Park. The not-for-profit event features a show, workshops, talks, a pony safari, a chance to meet the moorland farmers and their ponies and a cross-country chase.

The Pony Club Polo Championships are held at Cowdray Park, Sussex, from 7-9 August.

Eventing
The Festival of British Eventing is at Gatcombe, Glos, from 7-9 August. The event includes the novice, intermediate and open championships.

Racing
Four teams of top jockeys compete against each other in this six-race showdown for the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup. The meet will be followed by live music by Hayseed Dixie, Razorlight, Blue, Rick Astlee and Lulu.

The British Showjumping National Championships are at Stoneleigh Horse Show, Stoneleigh Park, from 11-16 August.

See stunt riders demonstrate “Roman riding” at Ripley Show, North Yorks, on 9 August.

Convention
Dartmoor Pony Society is hosting its international convention from 8-15 August at various locations in Dartmoor and the surrounding area. The society’s last convention was in 2005.
