The Mitsubishi Motors Cup held at Badminton Horse Trials immediately before the prestigious four-star event gives event riders at the lower levels of the sport the opportunity to perform on one of the biggest stages of the eventing world.
This year, the BE100 championship was won by Katie Hancock from Cornwall riding her own 10-year-old Kilcandra Rambo Ray. The combination triumphed on their impressive dressage mark of 24 penalties, 7.8 penalties clear of their nearest rival. Second place went to Stephanie Waite riding Stay In Touch who finished on a score of 31.8. Third place was occupied by Zoe Davison riding Cavaliers Back To Black, who finished on 32.4 penalties.
The course caused problems at a number of different fences. In total 59% of cross-country starters completed the cross-country course with no jumping penalties.
